Overview

A 2-night Kerala wildlife escape from Madurai — Periyar Lake boating, spice plantations, elephant rides, Kathakali shows and a Gavi Eco-Tourism safari into Periyar's untouched forests.

Begin at Madurai and the scenic climb up the Western Ghats to Thekkady. Day one is the classic Thekkady experience — Periyar Lake boating, the Periyar Tiger Reserve Forest Museum, a working spice plantation walk, an elephant ride and traditional Kerala performances (Kathakali and Kalaripayattu martial arts). Day two crosses into the eco-tourism paradise of Gavi via the Parunthumpara View Point, with a peaceful overnight inside the forest. Day three is the highlight — a Gavi Eco-Tourism safari into the Periyar reserve, forest reservoir walks, wildlife spotting and untouched jungle landscapes — before the drive back to Madurai.
