Overview

The grand tour of the Balkans in two weeks — from Belgrade and the Croatian coast at Split and Dubrovnik to the Bay of Kotor, Mostar, Sarajevo, Sofia, Ohrid and Tirana, taking in a string of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

This fourteen-day journey is the most complete way to see the Balkans, crossing seven countries and gathering up the region's greatest sights along the way. It runs from Belgrade to the Croatian capital of Zagreb and the waterfalls of Plitvice, down the Dalmatian coast through Roman Split to walled Dubrovnik, around the Bay of Kotor and inland to Mostar and Sarajevo. From there it turns east and south — to Sofia and the mountain monastery of Rila, across North Macedonia to lakeside Ohrid, and finally into Albania and its capital, Tirana. A comfortable, fully guided small-group tour of no more than fifteen.
